Catherine (Kathleen) Joan Matusik (nee Prior) Kathleen "Kay" Matusik, 88, of Collingdale died on Holy Saturday, March 26, 2016. She passed peacefully at home while surrounded by family. Kay grew up in Nicetown and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Chestnut Hill, where she was class president, yearbook editor, and a member of both the orchestra and theatre. She loved the beach and was proud of her Irish heritage. An avid reader, Kay also enjoyed crossword puzzles and cryptograms. Other hobbies included crocheting and playing the violin. She was a Jeopardy enthusiast and also enjoyed Murder, She Wrote. Above everything, she was the matriarch of her family and was adored by all. She is survived by her 9 children: Stanley, John (Carolyn), Kathleen (Eugene Traband, Jr.), Anne (Anthony Mattioli), James (Rosemary), Francis (Elizabeth), Mary (Norbert Duerr), Joseph, and Thomas (Donna); her 18 grandchildren: John (Rachel), Eugene Traband III (Susie), Michael Traband (Laurie), Jennifer Traband, Charles Mattioli (Christine), Kristina, Kirk, Anne Melissa, Helen, Francis, Stacy (Phillip Eastman), Andrew, Kathleen, Joseph, Shane, Christopher, Kyle, and Devin; and her 9 great-grandchildren: Dominic, Joseph Henderson, Amanda Henderson, Ashley Traband, Abigail Traband, Brooke Mitchell, Brittany Traband, Bridgette Traband, and Cadyn Gooding. Her family will remember her quick wit and infectious laugh. Visitation will be held from 9-11AM, with funeral service to follow, on Thursday, March 31 at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden. Burial will be private.
