Donald Fischer Boorse was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Norwood, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Glen Nor High School and the University of Delaware. He was on the football teams for both schools. Don served as a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He designed kitchens and bathrooms for Sears. After his retirement in 1991, he enjoyed woodworking. He served as an elder and taught Sunday School at Folcroft Union Church and was know by the children as the Candy Man. He enjoyed his many friends and family. Don is predeceased by his parents Samuel and Cora Boorse, his brother Samuel (Jerry) Boorse and his first wife Elizabeth Hardgrove Boorse. Don is survived by his wife Dora Fariss Boorse, his sisters Grace Wolfenden and Beatrice (Raymond) Bushong, his children Skip (Linda) Boorse, Karen (Christopher) Williams and Michelle (John) Flatley and step-children Patricia (James) Anderson, Nancy Fariss, Carolyn Fariss and Sandra (Ernest) Stagliano and 13 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday from 7-9pm at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA. and visitation from 10-11am on Thursday followed by his Funeral Service at 11am at Folcroft Union Church, 500 Primos Ave. Folcroft, PA.
