He particularly lived for the summer months when he could be at the shore, first in Sea Isle and later in Avalon. He greatly enjoyed his membership at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor.
Next to his family, Dr Stulpin's greatest joy was serving God as an Ordained Protodeacon in the Moscow Patriarchiate of the Russian Orthodox Church. He was ordained by Metropolitan Philaret in St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City in 1987. He has spent many happy years serving at St Andrews Russian Orthodox Church in Philadelphia as well as many other local parishes. Fellow clergy and parishioners enjoyed his "Deacon's" voice and respected is love of the Church Slavonic language and musical traditions. Father Michael had the great privilege to visit Russia on multiple occasions and served in many historical churches and monasteries while there. He was blessed to have been able to serve with Patriarch Alexi.
