Obituary of William Werner

William Werner "Bill" age 87 of Folcroft passed away on February 24, 2024 at Springfield Crossing. Born and raised in Roxborough, Philadelphia. He married his beloved wife, Mary Anne Harper, November 23, 1957. Bill worked for 37 plus years for the Army Corps of Engineers in various capacities. Bill was a resident of Folcroft for over 60 years. He became known as the "Folcroft Walker." Over the years he was active with the local churches: Folcroft Union and First Baptist Church of Collingdale. Bill volunteered with Interserve International and at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum. He was an avid computer enthusiast who created programs that were utilized at work as well as a program for Folcroft Union church library. During his retirement, he enjoyed many trips across the US with his wife in which they made new friends. He is predeceased by his son Daniel Werner, parents Charles and Hazel Werner and brother Charles Werner. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Anne Werner, his cherished children David (Madeline), William (Donna), Steven (Kara), Daniel's wife Linda, Andrew (Rebecca), Heidi Gregory (Paul), his 15 treasured grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, his dear sisters Alice "Tootsie" Hazel Dzoid, Jane Cappo (Frank), Mary Ann Rothfus and brother Thomas "Kim" (Sheila). Visitation: Tuesday March 26, 2024, at 2:00-3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Collingdale, 814 Andrews Ave, Collingdale, PA 19023 Memorial Service: Tuesday March 26, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Collingdale with a meal following the service in the church fellowship hall.
