Obituary of Charles W. Sakers

Charles W. Sakers, age 75 of Essington, passed away on March 28, 2023 at Taylor Hospital.

A hardworking man, Charles worked for SEPTA for over 30 years retiring as a Road Supervisor in 1998. He had always worked part time at Senkow's Collision & Auto Repair but upon his retirement began working full time. This allowed him to continue his hobby of fixing and working on cars. When he was not working, Charles spent his time enjoying the company of his family and friends. He especially cherished the time he spent with his grandson Chase, who he affectionately called "ten fingers" because of his fascination with touching everything!

Although Charles was a quiet man, he had a larger than life presence. He had a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will dearly be missed by all who loved and knew him!

He is predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Robert F. Sakers, Sr., and siblings Robert Jr., James Sr., Fredric, and Paul Sakers, Dorothy Duncan, Mary Solum, and Phyllis Sakers.

Survivors: Loving father of Susan (John) Sammartino, Cherished grandfather of Chase Sammartino, Dear brother of John Sr., and Stewart Sakers, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately.
