I first met Charlie in 1985 when I started bringing my cars to Senkow's I was friends with his brother, Fred. When Fred passed, Charlie took me under his wing -- I kidded him that he had "inherited" me. He was always kind and unfailingly helpful to me and we had some great talks. I will always be grateful to him. I pray God's comfort to all of his family and his many friends.

Dad,
I am still in disbelief that you are gone. It just doesn't seem possible. You were and will always be my hero...my very own Superman! You had a heart of gold and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. You were a wonderful Dad to me and an absolutely amazing Pop to Chase, and we are both so blessed to have had you in our lives as long as we did. But honestly, it will never be enough time for us!
You were not a man of many words and often quiet, but you had a presence larger than life...like a gentle giant. I already feel the effects of not having your presence in my life. I lost a huge chunk of my heart when you took your last breathe.
If I have learned anything about you in the days after your death, it's how much you meant to so many more people besides Chase and I. All the kind words spoken about you, have shown me how many lives you have touched!
I know in my heart you are in a much better place and free of any pain or suffering, and your medical conditions are no longer holding you back. So be free and soar high Dad. You are already and will always be loved and missed more than you could ever know. Watch over us and keep us safe!
My love always,
Susan

I grew up with Susan in Glenolden and often was at her house. I remember her dad just as people say, being quiet, a big laugh and a wonderful presence. He was a a great father. My condolences to you, Susan I know this feeling well. My prayers are with you and your family. Jennifer Heilenman

I did not know Charlie well, but I often saw him standing outside by his green truck, rain or shine drinking his cup of coffee. I think he liked my dog and didn't seem to mind when she wandered up on his lawn or greeted him looking for a snack. Charlie often had something witty to say or just smiled a little watching as my dog dragged me down the street. My condolences to the family.

Charles I will miss you I’ve got a lot of fond memories of the things I did with you and John before I left the swamps and we we’re still kids. Those memories will be with me until we meet again.

I had the privilege of knowing Charlie for 20 years or so being on both sides of the bar. He was kind, witty, funny, generous and was never shy to tell me that Kat was his favorite Hanlon, not me. There's a reason his nickname was "The Mayor". He knew everyone and everyone knew him. I always did and always will love our joking insults back and forth...always reminding me I was "working on my tip."
He was a gentleman and a pleasure to be around with a laugh that was both quiet and contagious at the same time. He will sorely be missed and I look forward to seeing him again down the road to partake in another round of adult beverages. Cheers to you my friend and may you rest in peace! Johnny "Mr B" Hanlon

R.I.P. Chalie, you will be missed by so many of us. You were kind, generous, and shared so much wisdom. I will never forget your smile, laugh, and hugs!!! You taught me one of the greatest lessons in life, if I was down, you told me “Build a bridge and get the f**k over it!!!” Words to live by!!! Rest easy, my friend!!!
