Obituary of Donald R. Bretz

Donald R. Bretz went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 11,2 020, surrounded by his loving family. Don trusted Christ as his Lord and Savior later in life. Don was a machinist who worked at Scott Paper for 33 years; he was a veteran and proudly served in the United States Army. Don's interest and passions were sports and his family. He was born in Frackville, Pa., the son of Esther and Wilbur Bretz. He loved baseball. In is youth he was an outstanding high school catcher. He also participated in several adult leagues, enjoyed watching sports and attended many of his grandchildren's sporting activities. He was predeceased by his parents and by his baby daughter. Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Catherine, and his children Donna (Stephen) Lambert,Catherine (Peter) Polloni, Mark (Gwen), Glenn (Kelly) Bretz, his nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Harold (June) Bretz and many nieces and nephews. Interment will be held privately. Services for Don will be held through ZOOM on Friday, May 15 at 12:30PM.
