Obituary of Patrick J. McCann, Jr.

Patrick J. McCann Jr. “Pat” age 93, a longtime resident of Sharon Hill passed away peacefully on December 27, 2019. Pat was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia and was a parishioner of St. Clement’s Parish before becoming a longtime parishioner of Holy Spirit Parish in Sharon Hill. After Holy Spirit closed, Pat then became a member of St. George’s Parish in Glenolden, PA. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WW II and a member of Murray Stuart American Legion Post 566, Glenolden, PA. Pat retired as a pressman from John J. Spencer Printing Company in Chester. A dedicated family man, Pat enjoyed taking care of his home, gardening, spending time with all of his family, and his daily cigar. Pat also had been involved in collecting food for BVM Church in Darby, PA. The Monday Night Fathers at Holy Spirit, and helping paint the Mother’s Home in Darby, PA. He is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary (Coghlan) McCann and his siblings Joe McCann, Marie Duffy, Jack McCann and Emma Gilhool. Survivors: Beloved husband of 69 years of Peggy (nee Drummond) McCann, loving father of Jean, Maureen M. Maley, Packy, Loretta (Kurt) Clements and Terence (Diane). Loving Grandfather of Lindsay, Patrick, Michael, Megan, Kurt and Sean. Loving Great-Grandfather of Helena Lin, Samantha, Kylie, Ava Grace and Shane Patrick. Dear brother of Sarah (Bill) Louden.
