Obituary of James R. Marshall

James R. Marshall, Jr, known as Jim, resident of Fair Acres, Media, PA passed away on 10/22/2018 at the age of 83 years old.

A native of Delaware County, Jim graduated from Nether Providence High School, now known as Strath Haven High School, in 1955.  He married his high school sweetheart in 1957, after which he enlisted in the US Army, 66th Engineer Corp and was honorably discharged in 1959.  He was a Land Surveyor for most of  his working years.  Jim was a member of numerous organizations including the PA Society of Land Surveyors and PA Tax Collectors Association.  He served as the Nether Providence Township Treasurer for 8 years.  He was most proud of his contribution to the American Red Cross Blood Drive where throughout his lifetime he contributed 74 units of blood.  He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and long time season ticket holder to the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers teams.

Predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Johnson Marshall, Parents James R. Marshall Sr and Elizabeth (Ruby),  sister Ann (Benjamin) Bean.  Survived by his children Cathi (Frank) Abbott, Fay (David) Taylor, James, 3rd (Diane) Marshall and Michelle (Richard) Kintsche,  brother Hal (Mary Ellen) Marshall, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-children with another expected this coming spring.

A celebration memorial service will be held in the near future.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jim’s name can be made to the American Red Cross.
