George McNaught Rule, Sr. age 79 of Oxford formerly of Glenolden passed away suddenly on Jan 18, 2010 at Christiana Hospital Born and raised in SW Philadelphia, he graduated John Bartram High School Class of 1949. He was a Korean War Veteran with the US Navy. He retired from the CSX Railroad as an engineer for 42 years. Mr. Rule was a 32 degree Mason and was the past worshipful master for Hamilton Lodge before they merge with St. Albans Lodge#529, Philadelphia and is a Royal Arch Mason. He was a a member of the Tall Cedar of Lebanon, the Penn Forrest #21 and of the Shriners of Delaware. He was a member and past president of Westinghouse Square Club. He was an instructor for AARP Senior Safety Drivers. George was a 45 years member of the Glenolden Congregational Church where he was a Trustee and Financial Secretary. He was also a former leader of Cub Scout Pack # 44 that met at the church. George also attended the Glenolden Men's Breakfast group at the First Presbyterian Church of Glenolden. He enjoyed Golf, Bowling, woodworking and John Wayne Movies. He also enjoyed electric model trains Predeceased by his brother Bob Rule and sister June Williams Beloved husband for 59 years to Eleanor Rule (Nee Sutor) Sons George (Bernadette) Rule of Oxford, PA and John (Eileen) Rule of Avondale, PA. Daughters: Linda McGovern of Frazer, PA. and Julie (Fran) Migatz of Aston, PA. Grandfather of Melissa, Christopher, Michael, Corey, Dominic, Stephanie, Francis, Rachael, Noah and Gloria and great grandfather of Eric, Johnny and Gracie. Brother of Pete Rule of Morton, PA and Jack Rule of Wyomissing. Also survived by his dog and companion Sammy. Funeral Service: Sat. at 9:30AM at McCausland-Garrity Funeral Home, 202 S. Chester Pike Glenolden, PA 19036. Visitation: Fri. 6-8PM and Sat. 9-9:30AM at the funeral home Burial Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills Memorial contributions: Glenolden Congregational Church, 115 S. Scott Ave. Glenolden, PA 19036
