Deepest sympathies. Haven't seen Larry since 1978 at which time he was already a proud member of the Philadelphia police department! I am a cousin in his mother's side.

Wow!!! I am heartbroken. I worked with Larry when we were in the 23rd District. He was the veteran officer, I was the rookie. Larry taught me a lot about being a cop. One thing I remember fondly about Larry was the little pocket size transistor radio that he would hold up to his ear so he would not miss a single pitch during a Phillies game. I will say he got me good one year with a clever prank. We were scheduled to work a Mummers parade and I am talking when the Mummers parade meant you were out in frigid temperatures for at least 12, 13, even 14 straight hours. Well, we are walking to our posts when I see this police inspector ahead of us. Larry says to me "I'm going to let him know we are staying out here all day, I pleaded with him to reconsider, he went right up to the Inspector and at first pretended to be yelling, when all of a sudden, the Inspector hugged Larry and they spoke like long lost buddies. The commander was Inspector McShane. Yea!!! I was nervous, but Larry did an excellent job taking me under his wing that day and thereafter. He will be missed and now I must realize that I will not see Larry anymore at the Eagles games when I worked those details. Its just not going to be the same. God Bless you Larry and your fine family, Rest in peace Sir.
