Edmund T. Oponski, Sr. "Eddie O." age 85 of Glenolden passed away peacefully on May 24, 2017.

 

Ed worked for over 25 years for Acme Market and was the former co-owner of Cheech-O's Lounge in Folcroft for 13 years. He also served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Ed was an avid sports enthusiast and golfer, and was one of delaware county's most feared pool shooters. He was always a friendly people-person, loved children, and always greeted everyone he met with a high-five. Ed was loved tremendously by his family.

 

He is predeceased by his mother and father, daughter in law, Nicola Vesty, brothers, Stanley, Alex, and Theodore Oponski, and sister, Maryann and Loretta

 

Survivors: Beloved husband of Rose Oponski for 59 years, loving father of Denise (Walt Kilgore) and Eddie "O", Jr., cherished grandfather of Todd (Jen) Hoffmann, Joel Hoffmann, Danielle (Leon) Bruce, and Joshua Oponski, step grandfather of Jessica Vesty, and great grandfather of Mia, Sofia, JordanJames, and many nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation: 6-8pm follow by Words of Remembrance at 8pm on Tuesday at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, 19036

 

Burial: Private
