Obituary of Effie A. Horne

Effie Horne (nee Brown), age 82, a long time resident of Folcroft passed away on July 19, 2016. Effie retired from the Glenolden Post Office where she was Postmaster. She attended horticulture school in Ambler and previously worked for the Robert Craig Company as a grower, where she met her husband. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church for over 48 years, Order of the Eastern Star, Friendship Chapter #551, and previously served on the advisory board for the Rainbow Girls, Prospect Park Assembly #89. She was an avid sewer who volunteered many hours at Lankenau Hospital. She is predeceased by her husband Robert P. Horne; brother, David Brown; and parents, John and Evelyn M. Brown. Survivors: loving mother of Mary Lyn (Lewis) Onimus and Robin (Forrest) Cleaver, grandmother of Kristin and Lauren Cleaver, and Amanda Onimus, many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 11am Thursday at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home 343 S. Chester Pike Glenolden, PA. 19036 Viewing: 10-11am at the funeral home. Burial: Mount Zion Cemetery.
