Evelyn Buchanan Loftus, 81, a long-time resident of Collingdale died March 4, 2016. She was born February 14, 1935 to Albert and Edna Buchanan. Evelyn graduated from Collingdale High School in 1953 and began working with Bell Telephone. On September 17, 1955 Evelyn married Michael Loftus of Collingdale. He preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Loftus, her parents Albert and Edna Buchanan and a sister, Eleanor Buchanan. Evelyn was employed as a Claims Representative for the Media Clinic, Delaware Valley HMO and Blue Cross Blue Shield retiring in 2000. Following her retirement, she was active with the Collingdale Senior Citizens where she served as President for eight years and secretary for one year. Evelyn enjoyed reading, traveling, camping and playing cards. She is survived by five sons, Michael (Ann) of Collingdale, Gary (Brenda) of Texas, Thomas (Deborah) of Secane, Mark of Collingdale and Gregory (Catherine) of Collingdale; one brother, Albert (Grace) of Melbourne, Florida; a sister-in-law, Nancy Weatherbee of Oaklyn, New Jersey; a brother-in-law Henry McGonigle of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: Tuesday, 10:30 AM at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036. Visitation: Monday, 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday, 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial: Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.
