Theodore (Ted) C. Butler Sr. age 92 of Aldan joined our lord on January 21, 2016 at Westgate Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was a graduate of the John Bartram High School Class of 1942. For over 25 years he was employed at the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin and was an avid fisherman enjoying fishing, hunting and hiking the Appalachian Trail. He was a Boy Scouts of America troop leader for Troup 115 in South West Philadelphia. He was a member of Promise Keepers and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. Ted was a proud WWII veteran and served with the Armored Forces, 3rd Battalion, 36 Regiment, 8th Armored Division, and also with the 35th Infantry Division in the European theater where he was a Platoon Messenger, Radio Operator and Machine Gunner. He was wounded in the liberation of Nancy, France and awarded a Purple Heart. Survivors: Beloved husband of Helen Mae Butler (nee Perney) of 69 years, Loving father of Nancy(George) Wressig, Barbara Warren, Janice Taylor, Theodore (Nancy) Butler Jr., Sharlene(Michael) Geary, Mark (Bernadette) Butler, Charles(Elizabeth) Butler, 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Funeral Service: 12pm Thursday at Middletown Presbyterian Church 273 Old Middletown Rd.
