Charles J. Miller Jr. age 87 of Maris Grove, formerly of Aston and Sharon Hill died on Dec. 18, 2015 at Riddle Hospital. Charlie was born on February 7, 1928 and was a resident of Sharon Hill for many years, graduating from Sharon Hill High School in 1945. Following a brief stint in the Air Force, he began working at Atlantic Refining, Temple University, then retiring from General Accident in 1990. While he was working he earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree from Temple University. He was a choir director at both Tully Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sharon Hill, and St. John's Lutheran Church in Folcroft. After his retirement, he served for a number of years as a volunteer with the United Way, and also as a lay chaplain at Taylor Hospital. He was a Sunday School teacher(youth and then adults), elder, and deacon at Tully Church, a Boy Scout leader, and a member of Aston Presbyterian Church. Charlie is predeceased by parents Charles and Margaret and granddaughter Rebekah. Survivors: wife of 63 years Doris: sons David(Peggy) of Ocean City NJ, and Rev. Craig(Donna) of Johnstown PA; grandchildren John of Delaware County; Tim(Miriam)of New York City; and Andrew of Atlanta , GA and sisters Peggy Liss of St Petersburg Fl. and Anna Schweitzer, of Virginia Beach. Visitation: Sunday, 6-8pm at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike Glenolden PA. 19036 and Monday 9-10am at Aston Presbyterian Church, 2401 Baldwin Run Dr. Aston, PA. 19014.
