Howard Robert Ball II, "Bob" age 42 of Collingdale passed away on Oct. 9, 2010. Born in Media, he was raised in Sharon Hill and spent most of the summer seasons at the Sharon Hill Swim Club where he swam butterfly competitively. He was also a Homerun Derby winner in Little League. Before graduation from Academy Park High School (Class of 1986), he lettered in varsity baseball and played football, anchoring both the offensive and defensive lines and serving as team captain. He returned to his Alma Mater as a football coach for the AP Knights, which he considered a labor of love. Mr. Ball worked in the Sun Oil environmental lab as a technician for 19 years. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed music, cooking and hunting trips in the mountains with his sons and brothers. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife at Briarcliffe Swim Club and on the beach in Ocean City, NJ. He is known for his generosity and his boisterous laugh and will be missed dearly by his family. Wife, Susan C.
