Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James "Jimmy" McClain, 63, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 29th, 2015 at his home. Jimmy will be greatly missed by his loving companion, Ailichia Cardel, who was by his side at the time of his passing. Jimmy also leaves behind his 3 daughters, Erin Diana McClain of Los Angeles, CA, Shannon McClain-Robertson of Seoul, South Korea and Angela Kuhn of Harleysville, PA. He also is survived by his 6 grand children, Ian Black, Jordan Black, Roman Kuhn, Jonah Kuhn, Mia Kuhn, and Lennox Robertson (due January 2016), as well as 2 son-in-laws, Ajene Robertson and Omar Kuhn, and 2 sisters, Wendy McClain-Johnson (Andy) and Kim McClain Killgore (Roy), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James Edward McClain and Mary Ruth McClain (née Clark) of West Chester. Jimmy was born in West Chester, PA in 1952. He was raised and spent most of his life in the town of West Chester, attending St. Agnes Catholic and Henderson High school and later working for many years as a delivery truck driver for Pepsi Co, Inc. Jimmy was a charismatic and outgoing personality who made friends where ever he went. He loved to stay in touch with his family and friends through handwritten letters. He was very proud of his Irish roots, so it's no surprise that he had a green shamrock tattooed on his wrist. Jimmy loved all kinds of music and was known to whistle while he worked. He had a perfect pitch and was even in a band back in High School. In addition, he loved to read, sketch and could often be found watching his favorite television programs-- Law & Order and M.A.S.H. He will be especially remembered for his lively personality and for being a loving and attentive "Pop-Pop". Memorial services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, cards and memorial love donations to assist the family with funeral arrangements may be sent to Angela Kuhn at P.O. Box 362, Downingtown, PA 19335. Those wishing to sign Jimmy's guestbook may do so at www.mcgfh.com. Special thanks to the staff at Aristacare, Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia and the McCausland, Garrity, Marchesani Funeral Home of Glenolden, PA.
