O Lord
There is nothing but hurt left
They feel broken, their hearts torn apart.
All they can do is wait
Wait in this desolate place,
And trust that somehow you can meet them.
They feel too weak to go on.
They are like shells, living, breathing, yet so empty.
All they wish to do is give up.
Give up in this heartbreaking time,
And believe that somehow you can restore them.
They find the sadness overwhelming,
Like wave upon wave of hurt and emptiness.
All they can do is rest.
Rest within their suffering and hope that through you -
Your love, your forgiveness and your strength -
That they will wake to a new day
A new dawn for their hearts and their lives.

My heart goes out to my girlfriend Batina and her family, who lost their wife, mother, grandmother, and rock yesterday. She truly was an extrodinary woman, an angel, and she gained her wings yesterday.
