William C. "Skip" "Stoney" Tuck of Folcroft Pa, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully at home on November 4th, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Drexel Hill and raised in Stonehurst Hills, Upper Darby, he was the son of the late Mildred (Walker) Tuck and Vincent Pinto and adopted son of Bryant Tuck. Upon graduating from Upper Darby High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was a decorated Vietnam veteran serving with the Brown Water Navy. After his tour in Vietnam he became a navy cook. His recipe for Italian Stromboli is still talked about today most notably from his shipmates aboard the Wm. V. Pratt. A patriotic man, Stoney made it a point to "Welcome Home" all Vietnam and active military he met. His years in the Navy gave him the opportunity to see the world and live in various places including the Philippines.
He was past commander for the Sharon Hill American Legion Post 193, past president for the Southeast Delco Employees Union. A people person, once Skip became friends with someone, he was a friend for life. He with his wife Barbara, opened their door to everyone, from a hot meal to a place to lay their head, which led affectionately to having their house called the one with the revolving door.
Skip enjoyed gardening, auctions and flea markets, nature and especially cooking for and spending time with his family.
