He also bought and installed an off-set printing press for the basement of the church to print all materials on sight for church functions.
In the community he was a life-member of the Folcroft Fire Company where he served faithfully for many years as a fire policeman and ambulance driver as well as assuming the role of Santa Claus each year for Christmas outreach. He was honored with the first annual George White Good Guy Award. In 1995 he successfully instituted a private campaign to raise funds needed to supply the Folcroft Police Department with bulletproof vests. Along with his son, Dean, he served with the R.E.A.C.T. highway assistance team of Delaware County and as a member of the Folcroft Town Watch. In 2001 he was appointed to a 4 year term as the Judge of Election for the Fifth Precinct in Folcroft.
