Obituary of Charles E. Schnell

Charles E. Schnell, Jr. age 88 of Cape Coral Florida, formerly of Glenolden, died on May 27, 2010 in South Carolina.
Mr. Schnell retired from Local 19, Philadelphia, Sheet Metal Union, where he was a journeyman and foreman
He worked for H.A. Dieffenbach from 1941-1966 and was a foreman for Peabody and Wind Sheet Metal Company for over 19 years.
Mr. Schnell was a WWII US Army Veteran serving with the 71st Division in Europe where he received his Bronze Star, Combat Medal, 2 Battle stars and an Occupation Medal.
He was a member of VFW Lodge 5382 where he was commander for 3 years.
He was a 25 years member and a past worshipful master of Albert Thatcher Hanby Lodge 767 F&AM Prospect Park.
He was a volunteer fireman for 40 years with Collingdale Fire Company # 2 and Glenolden Fire Company; he was also captain of Fire Police of Glenolden and Special Police of Glenolden.
Beloved wife of the late Margaret A. (nee Ryan) Schnell.
Loving companion of Helen Chamberlain.
Loving father of Janet (Edward) Funk, Peggy Ann (Bud) Huber, Linda (Tom) Jensen, Joan (Dave) Comen, and the late Charles Edward Schnell, III.
Cherished Grandfather of 14 and Great Grandfather of 10.
Loving brother of Dorothy Smith, Thelma Shover, Florence Cockerell and the late Marie Daltry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wed. June 2 at 11AM at McCausland-Garrity Funeral Home, 202 S. Chester Pike Glenolden, PA. 19036.
