Obituary of Claire H. Townsend

Claire H. Townsend age 89 of Lima and a longtime resident of Sharon Hill went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2013. Claire worked for many years as the church secretary for St. John Lutheran Church in Folcroft. She also was a member of the church choir, a Sunday School teacher and a Bible School teacher. She previously worked as the librarian for Sharon Hill Public Library and was instrumental in helping to establish story hour for the preschool children. Claire was previously active with the Sharon Hill Women's Club and the Sharon Hill Elementary School where she was a lunch aide and a teacher's aide and made numerous friends. Predeceased by her husband George E. Townsend, brothers William F. Whitely and Jack T. Hinger, daughter in law Sally L. Townsend. Survivors: Loving mother of Bonnie (Joe) Walsh and Mark Townsend. Cherished grandmother of Joseph Jr., Kevin, Michelle, Megan and Mark, Jr. Great Grandmother of 8. Dear Sister of Joseph Hinger.
