Jeannette Hecksher "Netty" age 74 a longtime resident of Lester passed away on August 27, 2012 surrounded by her family. Jeannette retired after 22 years as a bus driver from the Philadelphia Airport. She also worked previously for the Tinicum Twp Swim Club and M&M Machine Works in Lester. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Lester/Essington Fire Department and served on the board of the recreation for Tinicum Twp. She loved "her Phillies", even in hospice she asked how "her Phillies" where doing. She loved animals, especially her bird Twiddles and her many dogs. Predeceased by her parents Irwin "Spike" and Mary Emmertz Engel, brother Calvin Engel, sisters Mary Emma "Amy" Thomas and Dorothy May "Dot" Stewart. Survivors: Beloved wife of George M. Hecksher for 56 years. Loving mother of Anne Marie (Barry) Eppler of Essington, PA. George M. Hecksher Jr. of Wendell, NC., Mark A. Hecksher and Michele Desiderio of Lester, Bryan P. Hecksher of Rehoboth Beach, DE. and Christopher M. (Jaime) Hecksher of Clifton Heights, PA. Cherished grandmother of Richard, Nicole, Erin, Steven, Ian and Delaney and 4 great grandchildren. Loving sister of Margaret (Peggy) Beard, Irwin ( Butch) Engel and Louis (Louie) Engel. Funeral Service: Friday, 6:30PM at St. John's Tinicum Lutheran Church, 601 Seneca St. Essington, PA. 19029. Viewing: Friday, 4:30-6:30PM at the church. Burial: Private Contributions: to St. John's Tinicum Lutheran Church, 601 Seneca St. Essington, PA. 19029 would be appreciated.
