Obituary of Robert E Long

Robert E. Long, "Bob" age 67 of Folcroft passed away on July 5, 2024 at home with his wife by his side. Bob was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during 1974-1978. While in the Navy, he found his love for cooking. He graduated from the Philadelphia Restaurant School and worked at many local and Philadelphia restaurants for 20 years before getting burned out and changed careers. He then went on to work for Lawn Doctor mainly in the Havertown/Drexel Hill area for 20 plus years before retiring in 2022. Bob married his high school sweetheart and best friend Barbara (Fisher) in 1982 spending many summers in Stone Harbor before returning to the woods and mountains and enjoying nature. He is predeceased by his brother, Bill Long, brother in law, Bob Painter and his mother Joan Long. Survivors: Beloved wife of 41 years Barbara (nee Fisher) Long, loving brother Jake (Diane) Long, nieces Jen, Jackie and Kim(favorite hiking buddy),nephew David, sister in law, Pam Painter, nieces Karen(Joel),Beth(Bill) and nephew Jeff, step sister and brother Judy and Tom Quinn, best Buddy Michael Barretta and several great nieces and great nephews. Funeral Service: 11am Thursday, July 11, 2024 at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike Glenolden, PA . 19036 Viewing: 10-11am on Thursday at the funeral home.
