Obituary of Angelina C Silva

Please share a memory of Angelina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Angelina Carnero Silva was born on September 10, 1930, in La Union, New Mexico. She grew up in Yucaipa, California, with her 6 siblings: Sabino, Ramiro, Richard, Jessie, and Delfina. Angelina worked very hard all her youth doing seasonal migrant work with her mother and cleaning homes. She was very talented and enjoyed pottery, painting, and crocheting. She was able to pass on many of these skills to her daughters and grandchildren. Angelina worked as a beautician in her young adult life, happy to help people feel and look their best for over 20 years. Angelina met her husband, Manuel, at a dance in 1947. They quickly fell in love and were married on September 26, 1948. Manuel and Angelina were married for 62 years and had 4 children together. They raised Sylvia, Arthur, Michelle, and David in Fontana, California. Angelina learned the truth, as many of us have, by a knock on her door. She loved learning about Jehovah and was baptized on April 18, 1953. Her service to Jehovah became a primary focus of her life, and she went on to be a regular pioneer for over 17 years. Angelina's love for Jehovah shone brightly in how she lived. Her example of never missing a meeting with her two oldest children impacted Manual and drew him to the truth. Manuel was baptized in 1954 after attending a meeting with her and being encouraged to study the Bible with his wife (1 Peter 3:1,2). One of Angelina and Manuel's greatest blessings in their lives was being able to regular pioneer together for over 10 years. She loved sharing the truth with others and conducting many bible studies that led to baptism. Angelina and Manuel also had the privilege of serving where the need was great in Baja California, Mexico. During their time there, the preaching work was restricted. Manuel and Angelina had to obtain a special permit from the Mexican government to spread the good news. This permit allowed them to freely preach door to door and conduct bible studies. They also helped a congregation build a new Kingdom Hall. Today, 6 congregations meet at that Hall. Angelina was a very friendly, outgoing person known for her hospitality. She was a loyal wife, loving mother, and faithful servant of Jehovah to the very end. Angelina will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will most certainly be remembered by Jehovah (Hebrews 6:10). She is survived by her 3 remaining children, Sylvia Gonzalez, Michelle Monroe, and David Silva. She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Silva, and her oldest son, Arthur Silva. Her grandchildren are Alicia Angelina Silva, Miguel Gonzalez, Manuel Gonzalez, Sylvia Marie Gonzalez, Anita Saucedo, Priscilla Klingler, Amanda Smith, Marcos Munro, Sean Munro, Lauren Kennedy, Mareesa Silva, and Gabriel Silva. Angelina also has 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A Service will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses located at 202 W Chester Pike Ridley Park Pa 19079
