Myrtle E. James (Nee Crowle) age 94 a longtime resident of Glenolden passed away Jan. 12, 2012 at home. Born in Shamokin, PA., she was a graduate of South Williamsport High School and worked in Sterns Store as a hat model. During WWII, Myrtle helped with the war efforts by working at Baldwin Locomotive. She also worked for Gimbels Dept. Stores as a manager of its photography studio, Liberty Advertising Co., Franklin Mint and Arco Oil Co. She served as a Glenolden Committee Woman for many years. Myrtle enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing, traveling and was an avid reader. She loved her family and enjoyed life. Predeceased by her husband Robert C. James, sisters, Leah (Earl) Masteller and Ruth (Jim) Greenway and brother Robert (Mary) Crowle. Survivors: Loving Mother of Carole (John) Kaelin, Cherished Grandmother of John N. Kaelin III and Robert J. (Kasey M.) Kaelin and great Grandmother of Jayson R. Kaelin. Loving sister of Rev. David (Sue) Crowle and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Service: Tues. at 11AM at McCausland Garrity Funeral Home, 202 S. Chester Pike Glenolden PA. 19036. Viewing: Tues. 9-11AM at the funeral home.
