Obituary of Dorothy M McBride

Dorothy M. McBride "Irish" age 73 of Secane passed away on March 2, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born and raised in the Grays Ferry Section of Philadelphia, Dottie enjoyed spending her days with family and friends. As a young girl she was affectionately known as Irish. In her later years, Dottie relocated to Delaware County where she could be closer to her siblings. She retired in 2021 from Aqua where she worked for over 20 years and formerly worked for State Farm Insurance Company. She was feisty and competitive; she enjoyed shopping, playing scrabble and board games She is predeceased by her parents John and Evelyn McBride, siblings Evelyn "Evie" (Raymond) McQue, George McBride, Beverly Diering, Francis "Frank" McBride and baby James McBride. Survivors: Loving mother of Donna (James) Byrnes and Thomas (Bevin) Newlin, cherished gram of James Byrnes, Lainey and Paige Newlin, dear sister of John (Patricia) McBride and Catherine (George) Taylor and Aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A Private Service and Celebration of Dottie's life was held March 10, 2024.
