I was one of Izet's nurses when he was in the ICCU. Caring for Izet could be challenging because his condition was so difficult at that juncture, but he often smiled, made us laugh, and sang with us. Kate was so incredibly devoted, and it was always lovely to see her and give her updates about the day. I'd been following the blog since he was discharged. I was so sorry to hear that he'd passed away, and I wish I could have known him when he was well.
