Obituary of Rita M. DiPietro

Rita M. DiPietro (nee Marchesani) age 99 of Northeast Philadelphia passed away peacefully on August 2, 2023. Born at home in South Philadelphia, Rita was the 4th child born to the late Dominic and Anna (nee Marinucci) Marchesani. She attended South Philadelphia High School as a young girl beginning work at the early age of 14. Gmom was a dedicated employee holding many jobs in various industries to support her family. She was a seamstress most of her life, sewing war uniforms and London Fog raincoats throughout her career. Mrs. Peach was a fantastic cook and truly loved gardening. Grandmom was a selfless, devoted caregiver cherishing time spent with her family and friends. Gmom Rita will be missed dearly by all she touched with her loving, kind heart and sunny spirit during her time on earth. She is predeceased by her husband, Joesph L. DiPietro, daughter, Cecilia K. DiPietro, along with two brothers and four sisters. Survivors: Loving mother of Diane (Bob) Zurad and Ronald DiPietro, cherished grandmother of Brian (Kelly), Jamie, Nicole (Rob), Amanda (Paul), Crysta (David), and Bobby, great grandmother of Alexis, Emmett, Allison, and Elijah, dear sister of Dominic (Rita) Marchesani, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at St. Bartholomew Church, 5600 Jackson St., Philadelphia, PA, 19124. Viewing: 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. in the Church.
