Obituary of Robert P. Horne

Robert P. Horne age 89 a lifetime resident of Folcroft passed away on December 7, 2011. Predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Mary Horne, brother Benjamin Horne and niece Elizabeth Kroll. A U.S. Army Veteran serving during WW II, Robert met his wife while working for the Robert Craig Company as a salesman. He retired from the Folcroft Borough Police Department where he was Chief of Police. Robert was a member of the F&AM Hamby Lodge 767 and a Shriner; He was also a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Norwood. He was an active fulltime volunteer at Lankenua Hospital where he was a receptionist at the front desk for over 10 years. He enjoyed traveling to his home in Myrtle Beach and using the computer. Survivors: Beloved husband of 56 years of Effie Horne Loving Father of Mary Lyn (Lewis) Onimus and Robin (Forrest) Cleaver. Cherished grandfather of Kristin and Lauren Cleaver and Amanda Onimus. Also survived by two nephews Robert and Benjamin Horne. Funeral and Masonic Service: 11AM, Friday, at McCausland Garrity Funeral Home, 202 S. Chester Pike Glenolden, PA. 19036. Visitation: 9-11AM, Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Zion, Collingdale, PA.
