John G. Hunter III of Norwood passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2023.
John was a graduate of Interboro High School, class of 1986. John worked as a self- employed business owner in the construction industry. He loved teaching his three sons everything he knew about construction. He always enjoyed mentoring others coming into the trades. He worked for Re-Steel as a truck driver for many years. In his most recent years he was a devoted volunteer to Grands Stepping Up and Denis' Pantry and he made a huge impact on many families' lives.
He enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren. He loved going places with them. His grandchildren meant the world to him.
He is predeceased by his son Steven Hunter, sister Michelle Hunter, parents John Hunter and Suzann McDyer, grandparents John and Mary Hunter Jr., Charles and Catherine Duncan.
Survivors: Beloved husband of 38 years of Doris "Pixie" Hunter, loving father of Matthew ( Jamie ) Hunter and Andrew ( Deanna ) Hunter, son of Thomas McDyer, adoring Pop Pop of Hailey, Emma, Logan, Owen, Elliana, Preston and Kingston, loving brother of Jill ( Thomas ) Gormley, Kristen ( Tim ) Lynch, Laurie Monastra, Jeffrey Hunter, Ashley ( Chris Demarco ) Hunter, Kyle ( Rachel ) Hunter, Amanda ( Chris ) Corvasce, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins
John was hardworking, dependable, ready to help anyone he could, a man who put his love, dedication to his family above anything else. He showed his love through his actions. He was well loved in return. He will be deeply missed.
