There were so many things I forgot to mention about Ryan. He was so very smart and he loved to talk. We would talk for hours either at our house or on the phone. We would talk about everything from politics, current affairs, tv programs, music, health issues, work, family and friends. Ryan loved being a part of a big family. He loved his mom, dad and sister very much. He was always there for his Grandma G and several of his Aunts and Uncles. He also loved many of his cousins. Talked with many of them often. He always wanted to be here for everyone. He showed everyone love, affection and respect. He loved playing poker with his dad and sister before they got on the school bus in the morning. He wouldn't be able to play poker if his Grandma G didn't teach him the game. He loved that about her. He loved watching football with Uncle and my guys and he went to several Bills games with Uncle when we still had season tickets. He loved hunting with his Dad and several of his Dads friends. He was always proud when he got a deer. He knew I wouldn't want to eat deer meat so he would make all kinds of meals with it and never tell me what it was. He would always say it wss hamburger, steak or a roast. It wasn't until years later that he finally told me it was deer meat that I ate. These were some of the things I loved about Ryan he was always so kind and didn't want to hurt anyones feelings. Ryan was a great kid and an even greater man. I love you Ryan. Aunt Mary.

Ryan is a dear and loving nephew. He has always been there for Uncle Stosh and me. When he and Nicole came to town they always made time to come visit with us. We spent so much of Ryan's youth with him. From his birth to all his important occasions. We went to many of his hockey games and school functions. The most cherished memories of him was spending our summers with Ryan and his family in their pool. Ryan loved the 4th of July. He especially loved shooting off the biggest fireworks he could find. I talked with Ryan on Christmas day for over 2 hours. He told me how very much he loved Nicole and his baby girl Olivia. He said he wanted to have more children with Nicole because he loved being a daddy and he wanted to be a great dad like his dad was to him and his sister Lindsay. Even though he had many, many great accomplishments he thought his greatest was bringing Olivia into the world. We will be there for Nicole and Olivia as we were for you. But Ryan continue to watch over the both of them from heaven. Rest in peace my dear Ryan and enjoy being with your dad. Love you and we will both miss you until we can all be with you and your dad again. Love Aunt Mary and Uncle Stosh.

I had the pleasure of working closely with and getting to know Ryan quite well during my final three years at Temple, as an officer of Gamma Iota Sigma. Ryan and I both got hired as officers in the same semester, starting off alongside eachother on the Alumni Affairs Team. While I was the youngest of the 40+ officers and Ryan was the most senior, me and him immediately formed a bond. We shared a love for sports and talking to other people, so I often found myself running many of the happy hours and other Alumni events with him throughout the years. Whenever Ryan rolled into our weekly office hours, we always had great conversation and found ourselves staying past our alloted time. Whether it be about sports, some awesome meal he was cooking or meat he was BBQing, something exciting he was planning with Nicole, or one of his countless stories from his hockey days, poker days, or growing up in Buffalo, Ryan always had a story to make you smile and laugh. Ryan brought a specific enthusiasm and joy to the world, inflecting it on those around them, and was someone who really understood the importance of human connection and putting a smile on the face of those around him. Even though I did not know him as long as many of you have, he left a lasting impression on me and truly will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of getting to know him. My condolences to Nicole and his daughter Olivia, I can only imagine how happy she made him.

From the first time I met, Ryan, we seemed to hit it off. That was 17 or 18 years ago. We both had an interest in horse racing and poker. Ryan attended my poker dealing class in 2007 and went on to become a dealer at the Seneca Niagra Casino.
When Pennsylvania legalized poker, he immediately took advantage of the opportunity for advancement and moved to PA to continue his poker dealing at a new casino. Ryan was one of the smartest students I ever trained. His love for poker and our common interest in gambling is what brought us together. After meeting, Nicole he began to think more of his future, and what would be the best path for him to take.
His intellegence led him to a wiser career decision. He would leave casino gaming and work in another field of his expertise. Selling insurance.
We were always in touch. Ryan would call me and we would literally talk for hours about football and poker and life in general!
I shall miss those wonderful talks we used to share. I will miss your visits to Buffalo, when you and Nicole would visit. My wife, Sharon and my dog, Bigsby are no longer with me, but those memories from your Christmas time visits will be with me forever.
I have not met your beautiful daughter, Olivia yet. She is only 5 months old.
My heart breaks whenever I think of you. Rest in peace, my dear friend. Until we meet again.

While I only knew Ryan for a relatively short time (five years), we spent numerous lunch breaks, happy hours, phone conversations and “walks to the car” at the end of a workday, together. I loved him, but I had to sometimes limit the conversation and give him a “ok, when I get to my car we have to stop talking” deadline, because if you know Ryan, you know he loved a conversation. I can’t even begin to tell you how many of those walks to the car ended well beyond the “time” I had allotted because Ryan had the uncanny ability to draw me into a discussion that I didn’t want to end. Perhaps it’s easier to convey some of the common threads of all my memories of Ryan. To me, Ryan was a friend with a probing intelligence, a crooked smile, a hearty laugh and a fierce sense of loyalty. He could talk about current events and politics as quickly as he could rattle off the latest stats on his favorite teams and players. He loved DEEPLY and no one more than Nikki and his proudest achievement Olivia. I remember when he called me from the hospital a few hours after Nicole delivered their daughter. He was giddy, over the moon, and truly understood the miracle he had participated in. I am most disappointed that I will be unable to share in his future achievements, especially those of a father and husband – the two most important roles he had happily undertaken. May God Bless and Keep all of Ryan’s family especially Nicole and Olivia. There are two things of which I am most certain. 1) Ryan will be intensely watching his Buffalo Bills this season and 2) Olivia has gained a heck of a Guardian Angel.

Nicole, so sorry to hear about the death of Ryan. He was a friend while at Admiral and was loved and will be missed by many of us. May the lord grant you the strength and comfort you and baby Olivia during this difficult time. May the memories you created together give you some peace in the days to come. Rest in Peace Ryan! You're gone but will never be forgotten.
