Obituary of Michael J. Barrett, Sr.

Michael J. Barrett Sr. "Sharky", age 63 of Prospect Park, formerly of Collingdale, passed away peacefully at home on November 24th, 2022.

Born and raised in Collingdale, Michael attended St. Joseph's school and graduated from Collingdale High School. He then went on to work on the production floor as a supervisor for DMFS for many years. In addition, he earned his CDL and began delivering medical equipment for multiple companies. During his lifetime, he volunteered at Collingdale Fire Co. and was Lieutenant at Colwyn Fire Co. He was well known for being a classic car enthusiast, an avid Philadelphia Sports fan, jokester and family man. He especially loved spending summers with family in Maryland at the "Lyons Den" and out on the Chesapeake Bay.

Michael is predeceased by his father James T. Barrett.

Survivors: Loving father of Nathan (Patti) Gretzinger, Samantha Barrett, Michelle (Matthew) Barrett, Michael Barrett Jr. and their Mother Deborah (Michael) Ferry. Dear Poppop of Missy, Andrea, Nicholas, Aubree, Camryn, and Vincenzo, cherished son of Helene Barrett, Brother of Dottie (Chris) Dewitt, Lynn (Jeff) Lyons, James T. (Beth) Barrett Jr., Tina (Walt) Stanley, and John (Debbie) Barrett, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral Mass: 12 Noon on Friday, Dec. 2, at St. Madeline's Church, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park PA

Viewing: 6-8PM on Thurs. Dec. 1 at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden PA as well as 11-12 Noon on Friday at St. Madeline's Church.

Burial: Private
