Obituary of Dorothea A Negro

Please share a memory of Dorothea to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dorothea Negro (nee Green) passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday November 17 th, 2022 at home.

Born in Philadelphia to Charles and Theresa (Baranello) Green. She attended BOK vocational School for Cosmetology and worked at the craft she loved. She met Joseph Negro at a social dance in South Philadelphia. They married and raised 4 children. She was very active in her children's school at St. George and did a short stint as President of the Women's Club. After her children were grown, she went back to work along side her husband at his family's business. They both loved to travel. They went anywhere from the shore, to the Poconos, the Caribbean and abroad but their favorite place was Aruba. They went so much that we believe they had stock in Holiday Inn. She was also an avid Flyers fan. Ask her any question about hockey and she could name the player and the team. However, her true passion was her children and grandchildren but not in that order.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph D Negro. Loving mother of Karen (Tom) Campbell, Paula Negro, Chris (Beth) Negro and Valerie (David) Freed. Cherished grandmother to Christopher (Helena), Matthew, Daniel, Jack and Olivia. And dear twin sister of Doreen Rizzo. She had many loving nieces & nephews.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday December 3 rd from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home at 343 Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036. Her Funeral

Mass will follow at St. George Church at 11 am 22 E Cooke Ave, Glenolden, PA 19036

Burial will be private

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made in Dorothea's name to Flyer's Charities, 3601 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19148
