Obituary of Albert El-Roeiy
Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dr. Albert El-Roeiy passed away on June 25, 2022 at Bryn Mawr Hospital after suffering a short but serious illness. Albert was born on July 30, 1952 in Marrakesh, Morocco and later immigrated to Israel with his family during the 1970s. A deeply ambitious and compassionate person, he chose to pursue a career in medicine because he loved both science and service and found the field to be a challenging and innovation combination of the two. After completing medical school in Jerusalem and serving as a medic in the Israeli Defense Forces, he then married his wife, Anat Aivram El-Roeiy, in 1985 and they moved to Chicago, IL. They later moved to San Diego, where he established his career in Reproductive Endocrinology and then settled in Philadelphia, PA where he was a practicing physician and leader in the medical community. As a doctor, he helped couples who were struggling to start a family and was known to be a truly kindhearted and supportive resource to his patients and coworkers.
Although he had many loves in his life, among them European soccer games and Mediterranean cuisine, no love was greater than the one he shared with his family. He and his wife had two daughters, Doreen and Lynn, who he cherished and raised with tremendous affection. He also leaves behind a granddaughter, Mina Mahler. Dr. El-Roeiy was predeceased by his wife Anat, mother, and father.
Dr. El-Roeiy was a committed scholar, dedicated physician, loyal friend, and tireless father and grandfather who treasured both the big and little moments in life. He will be missed by so many and remembered by even more. He will be interred at Glenwood Cemetery on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:45am.
