Obituary of William J. Reese

William J. Reese, Sr. Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather William J. Reese, 76, died suddenly in The Villages, FL on November 11th. Born in Taylor, PA, he was raised in Glenolden where he resided for nearly 70 years, recently moving to Florida. He was a 1953 graduate of Glen-Nor High School. Bill retired from Boeing Helicopters after 38 years of service in 1995. He was employed as Senior Manager of Inventory Management. A courageous and civic-minded man, he was a Lifetime Member of Glenolden Fire Company #1, serving as both President and Fire Chief. Mr. Reese was a longtime member of Glenolden Borough Council and past President. A faithful servant, Bill was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Folcroft, where he enjoyed playing softball. Mr. Reese was a member of F&AM Lodge Richmond No.230. Bill most enjoyed the love and camaraderie of his family, was an avid reader, and loyal Philadelphia sports fan. His devotion to those he loved and his sense of humor will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Predeceased by his sister, Louise Roberts and brothers John Reese and Everette Reese. Survivors: His wife of 56 years, Gail Stagner Reese, Loving father to William Reese, Jr. (Pamela), Sharon (Joseph) Modge, Judith (Idas) Snell, and Daniel Reese, all of Glenolden. Loving PopPop to thirteen adoring grandchildren and four great grandchildren and Brother Delbert Reese. Funeral Service: Thursday, 10AM at McCausland-Garrity Funeral Home, 202 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden. Visitation: Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 9-10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
