Obituary of Theresa Emily McNamara

Theresa E. McNamara age 89, a resident of Southwest Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2021.

Theresa was born and raised in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of Philadelphia. She graduated from John W. Hallahan High School in 1949. She worked at Bell of Pennsylvania for 25 years before her retirement in 1994.

Theresa is predeceased by her sons Daniel McNamara, Dennis McNamara (Diane) and James McNamara and her former husband James Charles McNamara.

She is survived by her children Teresa McNamara, Robert McNamara, Timothy (Laura) McNamara, Marie (Paul) O'Connor, Brian (Lana) McNamara, Nancy (Robert) Sobczak, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Theresa loved her family and enjoyed good food, travel, and dancing even when sitting in her wheelchair. She had a great sense of humor that brought laughter and smiles to those around her. Theresa was a devout member of St. Barnabas Parish for over 60 years. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Interment will take place on Saturday April 24, 2021 at 10am. For those who cannot physically attend the Service will be broadcasted through Zoom.
