Hated seeing your health deteriorate. You were a warrior! God said, “ENOUGH” and wrapped his arms around you and took you home. Rest In Peace dear Linda.

To my loving and caring sweet Angel, my big sister Linda, I love you so much. You had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. I will miss you and all the fun times we shared, even those 2am trips to the casino and out to breakfast after that. We had a great childhood and a strong family bond that got stronger through the years. Please say hello to mom and dad for me. Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten and forever in our hearts, until we meet again my sweer Angel.

Aunt Linda never missed a family party, and there were many of them, that’s for sure! She had the kindest heart. Never asked for anything, but was always willing to help others and give the shirt off her back to anyone. Among many, I have two fond memories that will always paint the picture of how caring, enthusiastic, and loving this amazing woman was.
She worked at Tinicum School as one of the lunch ladies. All of those ladies were a pleasure to see every day, a breath of fresh air you could say, but amongst the best of them, my Aunt Linda was the last face that I saw before returning to class. I’d give her the change from my lunch money and she would collect it, and when I wanted to buy something she would cash the change out and give me the cash. I never realized it until I was older the efforts she put in to make that happen for me. She must’ve had to ride her bike to the bank, precisely count out every coin, and then go out of her way to make it home. All after working a full day and rushing to make it to the bank in efforts to catch them before closing. She would excitedly hand me the money when I asked and I would thank her repeatedly. At that age I didn’t know the value of money, and by her suggesting to do this for me, it heavily paid off as I grew older. She left lasting examples on everyone without even knowing it.
Another, fond memory that I will never forget is her making every hockey game that my father, brother, and myself would take unnecessarily serious as we were growing up. She would hold the door and let the guys in and out and she thought she was an assistant coach of the Flyers. Sometimes she would stumble on her duties as she was “puck watching” and would take a little back lash or “lip” from the guys, but I’ll be damned, she would give it back to us even louder! She would have to duck to dodge flying pucks and take heat from the guys, but she was part of the team, and I was proud of my aunt and excited to try and impress her after a hard shift on the rink. Her famous saying in our younger years was “Wake up and smell the coffee”! That must’ve lasted 5 years, hearing that clear across the rink really made me want to wake the hell up and smell that damn coffee!!! But as we got older the “wake up and smell the coffee” tag line faded away..... it then turned into “wake up and smell the booze”! I think she was watching her team closely, and realized, “these guys drink more beer than coffee”, so she stepped her chants up to the next level! She changed chants, and we loved her even more, even though she pretty much was calling us alcoholics but she kind of wasn’t wrong! The other teams must’ve thought we were nuts having her husband (Sam - Rest In Peace), my father and herself all on the bench, but we owned it and we knew it made them feel good so we cheered them on as they cheered us on.
She had a contagious personality and I don’t know one person that she has ever made enemies with. She left a lasting impression on this earth and taught many lessons to her family and friends through her examples. She never strayed away from her family/ friend oriented lifestyle, and I think that’s something many people take for granted. We all took a tool from her toolbox whether we know it or not.
We will all miss her dearly, and this crazy world we live in just got a little more crazy now that we lost a soul that gave us hope that there are still genuine, caring, and selfless people still in the world.
Rest easy, Aunt Lin. Say hi to Grandma and Grandpa up there. Tell them we’re all doing well and that their life mission of keeping the family strong is still happening, and will never change.
Love always,
Ryan

The picture is of our family when we lived on Upland Street in Southwest Philly. Those were some good times! You were the one who took care of us growing up. You are loved and will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace my dear sister. Say hi to Mom & Pop for me, I'm sure they will be happy to see you. Until we are all together again.......
Love,
Jimmy
