Obituary of Dorothy J. Heller

Dorothy J. "Dot" Heller, 83, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at her home. Born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan, Dorothy lived there until 1955. She attended Marshall High School in Marshall, Michigan and later attended Western Michigan University. Dorothy lived on a farm in Michigan where she helped raised various types of farm animals. She was an avid animal lover. She also worked at a government plant in Flint, Michigan where she helped build airplanes during WW II. There she earned the title, "Rosie the Riveter". In 1955 Dorothy moved to Philadelphia. There she was a parishioner of St. Francis DeSales, Most Blessed Sacrament and Westminster Presbyterian Church Barnabas Church. Then she moved to Colwyn, Pa. where she lived until present. She worked as a Home Health Aid for 20 years and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Herbert W. Best VFW Post 928, Folsom, Pa. She is predeceased by her; half-sister, Gladys Boyd DelCorpo; sister, Florence G. MacPherson; and brother, Robert G. Black Sr. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Delbert E. Heller; 4 children, Patrick James Heller, Garnet Michael Heller, Cathrine E. Heller (Kochersperger), and Margaret Ann Heller (Katalinas); 2 grandchildren, Michael and Samantha and sister-in-law Betty Brindle Memorial Service: Sat., Aug. 6, 2011 at 7 PM at McCausland-Garrity Funeral Home, 202 S.
