Doris Lee Regensburg: A Proverbs 31 Woman Doris Lee Regensburg (nee Michael), 87, of Collingdale and very recently, Glen Mills, PA Born January 17, 1933 in High Point, North Carolina. Died May 24, 2020 in Glen Mills, PA Doris was predeceased by her sister Frankie Michael Phillips, her sister -in-law Jeanne Twining and Jeanne's husband William Twining. Doris Lee was an excellent wife, far more precious than jewels, who earned the trust of her husband's heart in their 66 years of marriage. She did her husband, William, good and not harm all the days of her life, starting with their marriage in 1954, through his stateside service during the Korean War in Champagne, Illinois, and finally in the home they made together on Pitman Avenue in Collingdale, PA, where she looked well to the ways of her household. Her examples of selfless love and faithfulness have resulted in a legacy of long-standing marriage relationships among her children which have borne much fruit. In addition to her husband, William John, Doris is survived by her children: Jean Marie (Doug) Hill of Lancaster, James (Susan) Regensburg of Pottstown, Michael (Mary) Regensburg of Marlton, NJ and Susan (James) Ball-Carpenter of Wilmington, DE. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and her sister, Arnie Anthony of Raleigh, NC and her nieces and nephew. Before she fell ill, Doris was a skillful knitter who enjoyed making afghans as gifts for friends and family alike; many infants, new graduates, and newlyweds snuggled within the blankets that were the work of her hands. When her boys were young, she was a clever and imaginative den mother to the local Boy Scout troop. She could often be found reading or tackling crossword puzzles on the sunny front porch, or praying with Bill after their morning devotions. Her membership at the First Baptist Church of Collingdale gave her the opportunity to serve the Lord as a deaconess and an elder's wife, and she and her husband also acted as mentors to many who appreciated her wisdom and teaching of kindness. Doris was also a loyal companion who maintained relationships begun during her teen years: Dot and Sheila held a special place in her heart. Trips to North Carolina to reconnect with her southern roots and her beloved sister and nieces were important and undertaken every year possible. Weekend visits to Fair Hope Farm in Chestertown and Still Pond, Maryland, as well as annual vacations with the Franklins to Ocean City, MD were greatly anticipated. She loved travel and adventure, and enjoyed exploring new places: Acadia National Park and an Alaskan cruise were treasured excursions. Her gentle spirit and encouragement, her steadfast support and love will be missed by many, but especially by her husband and children, who are rising up to call her blessed, declaring that while many women have done virtuously, she excels above them all. Services will be held privately.
